OKGNtech is booming.
The inaugural OKGN Angel Summit launched on January 28th, 2019. 27 investors, each willing to invest $5,000, created a venture capital fund worth $130k. The April 11th finale was all about the final five startups who pitched to the investors and an audience of 200 community members for a chance to win (think Dragon’s Den meets American Idol!).
Meet the Winner
Kelowna-based startup Trellis Social Enterprise is a platform designed to make charity fundraising easy. Their mission is to bring philanthropy into the modern age, growing events and community initiatives into a greater force for social good.
Meet the Finalists
After much deliberation, 5 successful startups were chosen to pitch at the finally. These companies went through a rigorous due diligence process and then took the stage one April 11th for a fighting chance at the grand prize.
All The Action
The Inaugural Angel Summit finale was one part Dragon’s Den, one part American Idol and two parts party. Flip through our photo gallery to see what you missed (spoiler alert: there was a whole lot of bold moves and at least 1000 balloons).
